Inanna sets her ear to the Great Below

Inanna the Sumerian goddess of Heaven and Earth, takes a journey to the Great Below in seek of wisdom. The illustration depicts scenes from a mix of tales and hymns of Inanna. Appearing from the bottom to the top is the Huluppu-tree. The god of wisdom Enki above everyone almost in line with the moon, symbolising the god of the moon Nanna who is Inanna's father.

Inanna's loyal friend Ninshubur beating the drum while she laments. Meanwhile in the Great Below, Kurgara and Galatur mourning with Erishkagal, the queen of the Great Below. Inanna cupping her ear to accept wisdom and knowledge. 

This artwork was created with the intention of being used as an altar piece for those who would like to work with Inanna in their rituals. However, this may be used as a decorative piece as well! 

"The Descent of Innanna" illustration was originally hand-drawn using fineliners, it took approximately 32 hours to complete. 

This illustration is digitally printed on canvas and each purchase includes a complimentary black magnetic hanging frame. 

The canvas dimension is 30 x 65 cm (image and white borders included)

Complimentary frame is made of synthetic material.
